Puget Sound Welsh Association is an umbrella group coordinating the activities of various Welsh clubs dedicated to preserving the long history & heritage of Welsh culture in the Puget Sound region and surrounding area. 

Seattle Welsh Women’s Club is a fellowship of women of Welsh heritage in the Seattle area, is one art of the association along with the groups listed below.  The club was organized over 90 years ago to further Welsh activities and to sponsor the annual St. David’s Day celebration.

The South Sound Group usually meets socially once a month.

The Welsh began settling in Washington State in the 1880’s. The Seattle Welsh Church was the center for many cultural activities until it was demolished in the 1950’s.  The Puget Sound Welsh Association (PSWA) was founded in 1985 and continues those traditions by:
  •  Being dedicated to preserving the history and promoting the cultural heritage of the Welsh in the Puget Sound region and surrounding environs. 
  • Participating in research and promotion of Welsh contributions nationally in all aspects of industry, education and the arts.
  • Organizing and coordinating social events for members and the public, highlighting Welsh customs, heritage and music.
  • Maintaining contact with over 100 members and 500 interested persons.
  • Publishing the quarterly Y Ddolen (The Link), with articles discussing aspects of Welsh heritage, history, current news and upcoming events.
  • During COVID have produced over 10 virtual pubs showcasing international, national and local Welsh talent on various subjects of interest to the members as a way to keep in touch.
  • Presenting a concert celebrating the life of Dewi Sant (St. David), the patron Saint of Wales (Feast Day March 1st). frequently showcasing world-renowned musical and language talent from Wales.
  • Participating in Welsh Heritage Day at Black Diamond Museum, usually held in early June.
  • ·  Establishing ties with a sister pub in Wales with whom we share virtual pub time.
