PSWA outing to Welsh Cemetery , Almira WA,  September 9-11, 2022

PSWA will be going to Almira    Hoping your calendar isn't full as we would love to have you join us!  It is turning out to be a rip snorting weekend.A number of local people will be joining us, descendants of the original Welsh homesteaders.  
Friday Sept. 9, we leave Seattle around 1 pm. 
Arrive Wilbur Washington, (town closest to the cemetery)   around 5 pm. 
Friday night at the Willows Inn little picnic area.  Locals will join us for a modest dinner together  Some folks are already booked at the Willows.  Motels are one block apart. 

The Eight Bar B is the motel in town with room availability.  $75 a night for queen bed. 
Clean and inexpensive.

Saturday,  Sept. 10  
  • Breakfast on own.
  • 10AM: we will carpool  to the cemetery.
Landowner may come and help us clean the place up.  Cleaning grave markers, filling in some badger holes, cutting some grass.  Setting up fences.   (We will be bringing tools with us.)  A 30 foot motor home will be parked nearby so we can use restrooms, get water, rest out of sun.  
  • 12PM: finish and go for a picnic together, sponsored by our Puget Sound Welsh Association. 
Afternoon back at motels, for chatting, resting,  visit to WIlbur Historical Museum on own. 
  • 6PM Dinner at the Willows Golf and Country Club, local folks invited to join.  We may have 10-15 people join us.  Should be a great time storytelling, joshing, finding our relatives, talking about Wales.

Sunday, Sept  11
  • Breakfast on own. 
  • Working out visit to Almira Community Church which is the one that the Welsh church joined.  Some folks will head for home early and some may go after church service if we get worked out with pastor and church ladies.
